Update regarding Theft From Motor Vehicle on the ward

Residents,

We are still searching for suspects regarding the increase in Theft From Motor Vehicle incidents that have taken place in the side roads within Broad lane and Monument Way N15. 

If you have a doorbell camera or any CCTV footage covering the roads mentioned, we are looking for a suspect breaking into vehicles on the following times below:

Hanover Road 0500-0800hrs, 11 August

Tynemouth Road 0800-1200hrs, 9 August

Your assistance could be vital in helping arrest the suspect responsible for the increase in vehicle break-ins on our ward.

As a friendly reminder to safeguard your vehicle:

-Remember to do all windows up and lock your vehicle

-Consider buying a faraday pouch if your car is keyless

-Park your vehicle in well lit areas, ideally away from desolate or quiet roads. 

-Leave your glovebox open overnight to show potential thieves there is nothing to steal

-Leave nothing in your car on show at all - even a pack of cigarettes or loose change can be tempting to steal

-Ensure your car alarm is working and never assume it is a false alarm
