Monthly community update from Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Sgt Griffiths (July 2026)
Hello everyone
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a quick round up of the work that your local Roads Policing Unit have been doing in your area, what's coming up and how we are working with partners to keep our roads safe for those living, working and visiting Pembrokeshire.
From what our communities have told us we have been focusing on: Haverfordwest : Morrisons Car Park and Fishguard Road up to the Garage. Milford: Haven Drive South Pembs: Hundleton B4320.
In addition to the above we have also been conducting additional proactive road safety patrols and speed enforcement in and around the County: These additional patrols are in in response to concerns raised with us by your local councillors, community representatives and local residents.
As of 1st August, following consolation with our communities and the NPPT, the renewed priorities will be:-
Fishguard : Vergam Terrace and surrounding area Milford: Waterton Village and surrounding area Pembroke Dock: VALERO area - Hundleton B4320 and surrounding roads. Tenby section: Hays Lane, Sageston.
To effectively tackle these issues we have been working with: The Neighbourhood Policing & Prevention Team (NPPT) Pembrokeshire Response Policing Team The Local Authority Road Safety Team Local Councillors & Community Representatives These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs.
As a result we have: Conducted around 230 hours of dedicated road safety patrols and enforcement activity across Pembrokeshire. Dealt with 70 road traffic offences through enforcement. Made 15 Drink or Drug Drive Arrests. Dealt with numerous Road traffic collisions/incidents and provided support to casualties and families involved. Made a number of arrests in connection with Drugs Supply Offences. Conducted a number of Drone Flights in support of policing operations such as High Risk Missing / Vulnerable Persons searches. Assisted other departments with numerous serious and high risk incidents across the county.
Operation APEX (our ongoing Motorcycle Safety Campaign which aims to reduce the number of serious road traffic collisions involving motorcyclists). Operation Spotlight (which targets the FATAL 5 driving offences - Drink & Drug Driving, Speeding, Mobile Phone Use & No Seatbelts)
This coming month we will continue to target the issues affecting our communities by participating in the following Road Safety Campaigns:
Operation Spotlight (which targets the FATAL 5 driving offences - Drink & Drug Driving, Speeding, Mobile Phone Use & No Seatbelts) Op Topaz/Ghost Plate Operation (proactively targeting vehicles fitted with “Ghost Plates”)
Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
