Bulletin 16 July 30th – August 12th 2026
Dear Residents We are re seeing an increase in reports of vehicle thefts across Tandridge. Currently Ford Rangers, Nissan Navarra’s and Kia electric vehicles have all been targeted, but we are also aware of thefts of Toyota Hilux, C-HR, RAV4 and Land Cruiser models across the county.
Criminals are using increasingly sophisticated methods to bypass factory-fitted security systems, meaning even modern vehicles can be vulnerable to theft.
If you own one of these vehicles, consider adding extra layers of security to protect it:
🔒 Use a steering wheel lock or wheel clamp 🛡️ Consider an additional aftermarket immobiliser, such as a Ghost immobiliser 📍 Install a vehicle tracking device 🔑 Keep vehicle keys secure, out of sight and away from doors and windows 📦 Store keyless-entry fobs in a Faraday pouch or box
Taking these additional steps can make your vehicle harder to steal and help deter criminals from targeting it.
Our officers are very aware of this rising trend in vehicle crime and are actively working behind the scenes to prevent thefts and tackle those responsible.
If you see a theft in progress, do not try to intervene, but call 999 straightaway.

CRIME REPORTS IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
Our Response Team and Safer Neighbourhood Team deal with a variety of incidents. Here are a few they dealt with since the last Bulletin.
There were 37 Arrests in the period July 27th 2026 to August 9th 2026 : Domestic Abuse / Violent Domestic Abuse 13 , Child at Risk 3 , Prescribed Limit Offence 4 , Alcohol Related 2, Violent Crime Other 3 , Theft 1, Drunk/Drug In Charge 2 , Arson 1 , Violent Crime Public Place 1, Crime Public Order 1, Theft 1, Attempt Robbery 1, Burglary Residential 1, Immigration 1, Assault on Police 1, Drug Related 1 .
In Lingfield on August 5th a member of the public reported a suspected drink driver driving into and parking in a car park. The witness removed the keys from the vehicle and the male driver was subsequently arrested after failing a breath test. Subsequent checks revealed his Licence had been revoked and he was driving without insurance.
A motorcyclist was stopped in Oxted on August 6th and a male rider was arrested after failing a drug test.
On August 5th in Caterham a motorbike rider was witnessed standing up on his bike, his arms out the side and not holding the handlebars, before pulling a wheelie. A S172 Notice has been sent to the owner of the motorbike and the insured and he is likely to face charges ranging from dangerous driving/riding, driving/riding without due care and attention and not being in full control of a motor vehicle.
After a single vehicle road traffic collision in Warlingham on August 8th the male driver was arrested after failing a roadside breath test and assaulting a police officer.

LINGFIELD, DORMANS PARK, DORMANSLAND AND BLINDLEY HEATH
Burglary Residential including Sheds and Garages East Hill, Dormans Park. Between August 1st and 5th a house was entered through a rear window whilst the victim was on holiday. The suspects had climbed onto the roof of a conservatory and smashed a first floor window to gain access before undertaking an untidy search. It is believed that jewellery was stolen (PR45260094718).
Eastbourne Road, Blindley Heath. Two males attempted to gain entry to a property via bi-fold doors but ran off when the victim disturbed them. One male was described as white, in his 20’s, height just under 6’ and very lanky/gangly. The second male suspect was described as white, in his 20’s, height 5’ 7” approx., chunky but not overweight, mousy blonde curly hair (PR45260095389).
Arson New Farthingdale, Dormansland. Around 16.20 August 8th two garages were set on fire and witnesses said that children were involved. One potential young male suspect was subsequently arrested and then further arrested for possession of cannabis (PR45260095950).
Anti-Social Behaviour Featherstone, Blindley Heath. Between July 27th and August 4th there have been a few people using electric scooters and mini motorcycles on the green especially in the evening without care to other users, dog walkers and young children playing on the green. One mini motorcycle had a child sitting on the petrol tank and none of the riders have been wearing crash helmets (PR45260094615).
Criminal Damage Vicarage Road, Lingfield. Around mid-night August 5th a projectile was shot at a bedroom window causing the glass panel to be damaged (PR45260094665).
Vehicle Crime Vicarage Road, Lingfield – Theft. Around 14.46 July 30th a Ford Ranger with the ignition keys in it was stolen. The male suspect was describes as white, age 50 to 60, grey hair, tall, heavy set, wearing glasses and dressed in black shorts, black T shirt and white shoes. He arrived in a red Mazda with partial index GJ08 or GJ09. The Victim’s vehicle was found in Oxted with the vehicle keys, a wallet containing cash, a bag of climbing gear and a chainsaw (PR45260092022).
Newchapel Road, Lingfield – Criminal Damage. Around 00.59 August 2nd a rock was thrown at a car by group of youths damaging the windshield (PR45260092984).
Vicarage Road, Lingfield – Theft. Between 13.00 and 15.00 August 2nd index plates GK22EHO were stolen from a car (PR45260093358).
BLETCHINGLEY AND SOUTH GODSTONE
Burglary Residential including Sheds and Garages Byers Lane, South Godstone.Overnight August 11th to 12th the garage and shed of a property under renovation were broken into. Lawnmowers, toolbox, tools chainsaw and dumper truck were missing (PR45260097529).
Vehicle Crime
Outwood Lane, Bletchingley – Keyless Theft. Around 20.00 August 9th a grey Range Rover Evoque Abio index EF66HKP was stolen (PR45260096654).
OXTED
Attempt Robbery Church Lane, Oxted. Around 16.20 August 3rd two young males were arrested for various firearms offences. A dart gun and air rifle were seized following two incidents in Masters Park, Oxted where members of the public were threatened with a knife although the knife was not found (PR45260093720).
Theft Hoskins Road, Oxted. Between 11.00 and 11.30 August 11th a blur Whyte T 130 Carbon bike with full suspension and orange cables was stolen together with its padlock from a leisure centre by two suspects on e scooters (PR45260097096).
Vehicle Crime
Hookwood Park, Oxted – Theft. Between 21.00 August 1st and 01.00 August 2nd an engine was stolen from a Ford transit together with the rear bumper and lights (PR45260093301).
Granville Road, Oxted – Keyless Theft. Between 00.00 and 05.30 August 9th a silver Kia Nero index LF23VDW was stolen from a driveway (PR45260096124).
CATERHAM AND WHYTELEAFE
Burglary Residential including Sheds and Garages
St Marys Mount, Caterham. Between August 9th and 11th a garage was broken into and golf clubs and a silver sports trophy were amongst the items stolen (PR45260097082).
Vehicle Crime Bournefield Road, Whyteleafe. Overnight August 4th to 5th the rear nearside tyre of a car was slashed (PR45260094912).
Croydon Road, Caterham – Theft. Around 03.34 August 8th the victim was awoken as a blue Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was being stolen but it was found on August 10th in Coulsdon (PR45260096779).
Harestone Valley Road, Caterham – Theft. Around 19.55 August 10th the driver’s window of a van was smashed and the rear cab opened from which tools were stolen. A member of the public described the suspect as a white male, stocky and wearing a cap .He was driven off in a black Subaru (PR45260096960).
WARLINGHAM
Vehicle Crime
Limpsfield Road, Warlingham – Keyless Theft. Overnight July 30th to 31st a Harley Davidson Sportster index DA61AZX was stolen (PR45260093018). Around 01.57 a bronze Lexus NX Sport index R7MYF was stolen (PR45260091926).
Farleigh Court Road, Warlingham . Overnight August 5th to 6th a Peugeot Equito Boxer 4.5t horsebox with equine items in it was stolen from a livery yard after a padlock was smashed on the yard gate and the steering wheel lock on the vehicle removed. A failed attempt had been made the night before (PR45260094914). On the same night a horse box was interfered with at a livery yard in Woldingham Road, Woldingham (PR45260095720).
Alexandra Road, Warlingham – Attempt Theft. Around 22.30 August 11th a male walked onto a driveway and tried the door handle of a vehicle before being driven off in a dark coloured Audi with alloy wheels (PR45260097753).
