Anti Social Behaviour Message

Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents. 
 

Officers from the local safer neighbour hood have seen an increase in theft offences relating to vehicle badges and vehicle radar sensors being stolen. The manufacturer of vehicles these are being stolen from are Volkswagen, Mercedes and BMW's. The vehicle badges are being stolen because of the adaptive cruise control module which is contained within the sensor. The sensors are contained within the front badge of the vehicle.

To reassure members of the public regarding this matter the manufactures are providing guidance on various deterrents methods, they are proactively speaking with owners in high risk areas, providing subsidised or free replacement for repeat thefts.

If your vehicle has been affected by this matter officers would highly recommend reporting this theft to the police. This can be reported online using metropolitan police website or via 101.
