Anti Social Behaviour Update

Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents. 
 

On 10th and 11th of August Officers took part in Op Collard which was a two day initiative aimed at targeting crime and ASB. This was a joint operation between EA Street Duties officers, in collaboration with Safer Neighbourhoods Teams, Romford Town Centre Team and the Havering Joint Task Force. Also taking part where officers from MPS Dog Section and British Transport Police who joined in at Romford BR Station.

Officers were deployed in plain clothes, mobile patrols and in high visibility foot patrols. The results were:

1 x Stolen vehicle recovered which was on cloned plates
6 x Arrests (1 for GBH/1for breach of police bail/1 for Handling Stolen Goods and Disqualified Driving plus 3 x Wanted Offenders were also arrested)
A total of 39 stop and searches were completed. 12 of these were positive.
10 x community resolutions were issued
1 x PND
2 x Weapon Sweeps were also conducted – in Central Park and Bosworth Field (Harold Hill).
3 x people accepted Project Adder referrals. This is a voluntary referral process into local substance misuse treatment services for both drugs and alcohol.

PS Lewis who helped to organise the operation said ‘This has been a valuable learning experience for these new officers who are in their first three weeks of the course. They have benefited from working with other experienced officers from different units to tackle the crimes and offenders that affect the community. The feedback from members of the public overall was very positive ’.

Across London we’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals - including with new tech like live facial recognition cameras, drones and e-bikes.
