Victim named in Southampton murder investigation

We can now confirm the identity of a man who died at a property on Weston Lane, Southampton, as Craig Wesley Mintram, 45, from the city.

Officers attended a report of an assault at the address at 4.21am on Sunday morning (9 August). Craig’s death was confirmed at the scene.

Craig’s family have been notified of his death and are continuing to be supported by specially trained officers, as our Major Crime Team continue to investigate his death.

A 23-year-old woman from Bournemouth and a 54-year-old man from Southampton were located nearby and arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man has since been released without any further action to be taken against him. Meanwhile, the woman remains in police custody at this time.

Yesterday (Monday 10 August), detectives were given more time to interview the woman, with a 36-hour warrant of further detention granted.
