Vehicle Crime Prevention Message Following Incident on Baden Street |
||
|
Burn Valley Community Update I'd like to make residents aware of a recent vehicle crime that occurred on Baden Street. An insecure vehicle was entered after being left unlocked, with items stolen from inside. Bank cards taken during the incident were subsequently used at a nearby convenience store. Police have identified the person(s) believed to be responsible and enquiries are ongoing to locate those involved and progress the investigation. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of taking simple steps to protect your property and reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime. Crime Prevention Advice✅ Always lock your vehicle, even if leaving it unattended for a short period. ✅ Remove all valuables from your vehicle whenever possible. ✅ Do not leave bags, wallets, purses, bank cards, mobile phones, tools or other valuables on display. ✅ Ensure vehicle keys are kept securely inside your home and away from doors and windows. ✅ Check that your house is secure, with all doors and windows locked when leaving the property or going to bed. ✅ Consider using CCTV, video doorbells or security lighting where available. ✅ Remain vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously around parked vehicles or residential properties. If you witness suspicious activity, attempted vehicle crime, or individuals trying vehicle door handles, please report it to Cleveland Police. 📞 101 for non-emergency incidents and information. 💻 Online via the Cleveland Police website. 🚨 999 if a crime is in progress or there is an immediate threat to life or property. Thank you for your continued support in helping keep Burn Valley a safe place to live and work. PC Connor Bide | ||
