Dear Residents, Welcome to the Police Update for the last week. The message includes personal fraud (Scams), burglaries, catalytic converter and vehicle thefts reported between the 30th July 2026 to 6th August 2026. The report also includes information on arrests in the Borough. The Police Reference Number (PR) with each of the reports is shown in brackets. Update: Can you help us find missing Andrew? We are cancelling our appeal to find a 38-year-old man who was reported missing from Haroldslea, Horley. We’re pleased to update he has now been found. We ask that you remove any copy or photos in order to restore his privacy. Thank you to all who shared our appeal.
Car Crime This week there has been 1 report of a suspected theft from car and 0 reports of attempts to gain access to vehicles. 0 reports of license plates being stolen. Arrests. There were 40 arrests in the period July 30th 2026 to August 5th 2026: Domestic Incident/Violent Domestic Abuse 12, Rape/Sexual Offence 2, Drugs 4, Prescribed Limit 2, Violent Crime in a Public Place 2, Violent Crime other 2, Harassment/Stalking 2, Hate/Diversity 1, Crime Public Order 3, Crime Other 2, Theft 3, Burglary Residential 1, Master Occurrence 2*, Prisoner Recall 1, None of these 1. *A Master Occurrence is used when recording an arrest where a number of offences are recorded for one incident.
Personal Fraud (Scams) in the Borough. Records show that there have been 2 reports of Personal Fraud in the Borough during the last week. These include a report of Financial Abuse.
Burglaries North Between 02/08/2026 23:00 to 03/08/2026 08:31. Rose Bushes, Epsom Downs. Residential Burglary resulting in the theft of cars. Method of Entry – Forced entry through the side gate and then access has been gained through the kitchen door of the property. Stolen: Two sets of car keys and two cars (one recovered). Central 31/07/2026 Between 14:30 to 14:45. Deans Road, Merstham. Attempted Residential Burglary. Method of Entry – Attempted forced entry through the back gate. Stolen: Nothing Taken. (PR 45260092715)
