Appeal after man is stabbed in Birmingham

Dear Resident,

We’re appealing for information after a man was left seriously injured after being stabbed in Birmingham.

We were called to Lozells Road, shortly before 9am this morning, after a man in his 30’s was stabbed.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to hospital by air ambulance with injuries described as life threatening.

Officers quickly arrested a 31-year-old man nearby on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to custody where he remains as we continue with our enquiries.

Chief Superintendent Ed Foster, who leads our Major Crime Unit, said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and would appeal for witnesses or anyone with any information including mobile phone or dash cam footage to please get in touch with us.”

We understand how distressing this incident is for the community and will have more officers in the area today to offer reassurance.
