Good morning all, we always proud to share good news, but the last two days have been a fantastic example of the impact that dedicated neighbourhood policing can have when officers combine local knowledge, proactive policing and strong community relationships. On Monday, PS Besley, PC Hoq, PC Nath Varma, PC Yildiz and PC Kucuk were conducting proactive patrols with the aim of locating a wanted suspect linked to a serious stabbing that took place on 27 July. Drawing on their extensive local knowledge, community contacts and understanding of the area, the team developed information that led them to a location behind Shurgard on Hickman Avenue. Following a thorough search, the suspect was located and arrested by PC Hoq on suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect has since been charged. Later that same shift, PS Besley, PC Kucuk and PC Yildiz demonstrated the value of proactive policing once again. While conducting plain-clothes patrols, their vigilance and use of local intelligence led to the identification and arrest of a male suspected of drug dealing. A stop and search resulted in the recovery of 117 wraps of suspected Class A drugs, disrupting criminal activity and preventing further harm within our community. And even then, the team were not quite finished............. While travelling back to Chingford Police Station at the end of the shift, officers spotted a male who was shown as wanted for failing to appear at court. Demonstrating the same proactive mindset that had characterised the entire day, they stopped and arrested him, resulting in yet another trip to custody before finally booking off. On Tuesday, PS Besley, PC Nath Varma, PC Hoq, PCSO Bronka and PCSO Karim were engaging with residents in Signal Walk regarding ongoing concerns about anti-social behaviour. Through positive engagement and swift action, two individuals responsible for causing alarm and distress to local residents and businesses were arrested. Following the arrests, a number of residents took the time to personally thank the officers, expressing how their actions had helped them feel safer and more confident in their neighbourhood.
Kindest regards, SNT HATCH LANE | ||
