Dear Resident,
Four years on from the gas explosion at Galpin’s Road, Thornton Heath, which tragically claimed the life of four-year-old Sahara Salman and affected many members of the local community, the Metropolitan Police Service's investigation remains ongoing.
Detectives continue to investigate potential corporate manslaughter and gross negligence manslaughter offences, working closely with the Health and Safety Executive and the Crown Prosecution Service.
This remains a highly complex investigation involving the review of significant volumes of evidence. The investigation team remains committed to securing answers for Sahara's family and all those affected by the explosion.
