🚨 E-Scooter Seizure in Shifnal 🚨

Officers from Shifnal Safer Neighbourhood Team have seized an e-scooter after the rider failed to follow repeated advice and warnings regarding its illegal use on public roads and public spaces.

Over recent weeks, we have received a number of complaints from members of the public about the use of e-scooters in the area, particularly relating to the manner in which they are being ridden and concerns for public safety. As a result, officers have been engaging with riders and providing advice about the law surrounding privately owned e-scooters.

Despite being given several warnings, one male continued to use his e-scooter illegally and it was subsequently seized by officers.

We would like to remind residents that privately owned e-scooters cannot be legally used on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes, or other public places. They may only be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

Our priority is to keep everyone safe and we will continue to respond to concerns raised by the community and take appropriate action where necessary.
