Man due in court charged with drugs supply offences

A 35-year-old man was due in court yesterday (Wednesday 5 August), charged in connection with drugs supply offences following a vehicle stop near Stowmarket.

At approximately 5:30pm on Tuesday 4 August, officers from the West Sentinel team had cause to stop a white van travelling on the eastbound A14.

A search of the vehicle was conducted under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and officers seized a large quantity of cocaine, with an estimated street value of more than £2 Million.

The driver was arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Arminas Sotikovas, of Riverside Road in Ipswich, was subsequently charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 6 August.
