Road Traffic Enforcement update

Officers carried out proactive patrols and road safety enforcement across Gravesend, targeting dangerous driving, uninsured vehicles and offences that put other road users at risk.

The operation was supported by partner agencies, including Immigration Enforcement, with activity focused on identifying those committing offences and ensuring compliance with UK legislation.

🚗 Road Safety Enforcement Results

As a result of today's activity, officers issued:

📝 12 Traffic Offence Reports (TORs)

These included offences for:

🏍️ Number plate offences on motorcycles
🏍️ Riding a motorcycle without a helmet
🚗 Driving without a licence
🚗 Driving without insurance
🚗 Seatbelt offences
🚗 Vehicle defects, including exposed tyre cords

🚗 2 vehicles seized for having no insurance

🚗 1 vehicle seized for having no vehicle tax

🔧 Vehicle Defect & Education Activity

✅ 1 Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme (VDRS) issued for a defective motorcycle exhaust
✅ 1 CLE 2/6 issued
✅ 1 Written Advice issued for a seatbelt offence
✅ 1 Written Advice issued regarding MOT requirements
✅ 2 PG9 prohibition notices issued to motorcycles due to vehicle defects

🔎 Proactive Policing

👮 2 stop searches conducted

🚔 1 arrest made for suspected drug driving. The driver was also found to have no driving licence and no insurance, resulting in their vehicle being seized.

🤝 Joint Working with Immigration Enforcement

Immigration Enforcement officers joined today's operation, with a number of delivery riders and drivers stopped and spoken to following concerns that some individuals may not have had the lawful right to work in the UK.

These checks form part of ongoing partnership work to identify offences, protect legitimate businesses and ensure compliance with UK laws.
