Parking in Aberdare

Good morning Residents, 

Posters have been attached to poles along Monk Street this week by South Wales Police to advise, 

There have been recent reports of vehicles parked in designated residents bays without authorisation. This constitutes an offence. 

Please be advised that continued parking within these restricted bays may result in formal enforcement action being taken, which could include the issuing of a Fixed Penalty Notice. If you require any clarification regarding these regulations, please contact a member of your local Police Neighbourhood Team at Aberdare Police Station.

Posters have also been attached to poles along Victoria Square by South Wales Police this week to advise, 

We have received reports of vehicles being parked illegally within the area, including on double yellow likes and wholly or partially on pavements. I would like to remind all motorists that double yellow lines indicate a prohibition on waiting at any time, and vehicles should not be parked in contravention of these restrictions.

In addition, parking on a pavement or footway can create significant obstructions for pedestrians, wheelchair users, mobility scooter users, and those with pushchairs. Vehicles causing an unnecessary obstruction may be liable to enforcement action under relevant road traffic legislation.

Please be advised that continued parking in this manner may result in formal enforcement action being taken, including the issue of a Fixed Penalty Notice where appropriate.
