***CRIME PREVENTION ADVICE***

To reduce residential burglary we are encouraging the public to view their homes through the eye of a burglar and take steps to improve home and vehicle security!

When approaching a property 🏠, a burglar is often looking for:
🔑 Unlocked/open doors and windows
💡 Poor lighting and hidden access points
📦 Visible valuables, car keys, handbags, laptops and jewellery
🌳 Overgrown hedges providing cover
🚪 Weak or poorly maintained locks
📲 Signs that nobody is home, such as overflowing post or social media posts about holidays
🚲 Unsecured bikes, tools and garden equipment

Make sure the doors of your vehicles 🚗 are locked, valuables out of view and they are parked in well-lit areas, ideally covered by CCTV cameras.  If you notice any suspicious people or vehicles in your area, then please contact 999 for immediate attendance or 101 to report crimes or incidents that do not require an immediate response.
