Community Update

PC Cartwright and PC Latter have been out and about in the local area speaking with residents and addressing several issues that have been raised by the community.

Sheep Worrying - A reminder to dog owners to keep dogs under control around livestock and to ensure they are kept on leads where appropriate. Livestock worrying can have serious consequences for animals and farmers. This follows a recent incident in Lamberhurst where a sheep was killed by a dog, highlighting the devastating impact that uncontrolled dogs can have on livestock and rural communities.

Parking on Pavements - We continue to receive concerns regarding vehicles obstructing footpaths. Please park considerately and ensure pavements remain accessible for pedestrians, pushchairs and wheelchair users. The issue of parking is led by the Borough Council so please initially report any concerns to them but Kent Police can support in certain circumstances.

Illegal E-Bikes and E-Scooters - We are also engaging with residents regarding the use of illegal e-bikes and privately owned e-scooters on public roads and footpaths. Please ensure any vehicle being used complies with current legislation. Please refer to the government link for guidance on if your e-bike is legal Riding an electric bike: the rules - GOV.UK

Community Drop-In Session

PC Cartwright and PC Latter will be holding a community drop-in session at Florence's Tea Rooms, Goudhurst, on Wednesday 5 August from 11:00 hrs. This is an opportunity to discuss any local concerns, ask questions, receive crime prevention advice, or simply meet your local officers.
