Two teenagers have been arrested after a boy was robbed in Smethwick yesterday evening.

At around 5.20pm, a boy was assaulted in Victoria Park and sustained a knife wound to the head. His phone was also stolen.

Officers quickly responded and detained two boys nearby for a stop and search. During searches, a mobile phone and a quantity of cannabis and nitrous oxide were recovered.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of cannabis, and a second 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of nitrous oxide.

They remain in custody for questioning.
