I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Today, officers from the Ilford Town Centre Team worked collaboratively with Ilford CCTV and Redbridge Enforcement Officers to identify and arrest a suspect who attempted to distract a lone female while she was withdrawing cash from a bank ATM.

The male was detained while committing the offence, ensuring the victim remained safe and retained possession of both her cash and bank card.

This successful outcome highlights the value of partnership working in keeping our community safe.
