Good afternoon all, We have today been made aware of aggressive sales tactics and rogue trading attempts in the Smarden area that have taken place over the last week. Nonetheless, this is important information and awareness for everyone, so I want to take this opportunity to remind you all of the following: NEVER agree to work on your house or garden by someone that knocks on your door uninvited.
NEVER give money to or sign up to any work sold to you on your doorstep.
NEVER let somebody take you to the bank to get money out for them.
And DO NOT allow strangers or uninvited callers into your house.
Reputable builders, roofers and gardeners do not cold call. Remain vigilant and look out for your neighbours, with it often being older lone occupants that are specifically targetted.
If you have any concerns or suspicions about trades persons that are present at your address, are uninvited and trying to pressure you or neighbours into having work done there and then, this is a 999 EMERGENCY CALL.
