Lozells and East Handsworth Neighbourhood update 25/07/2026 - 02/08/2026.

Welcome to this week’s crime and community update for the Lozells and East Handsworth area. Our neighbourhood team remains committed to tackling key crime issues affecting residents, especially around domestic abuse, robbery, burglary, and vehicle crime. We also continue to engage with schools and local partners to provide early intervention and support.

 🛑 Crime Updates

 Burglary:

There have been two reported Burglaries in the last seven days. One burglary on Church Street jewellery stolen. Second burglary on Hamstead Road where an electric scooter was stolen. 

➡️ Please remain vigilant and review your home security — consider alarms, CCTV, and good lighting.

 Vehicle Crime:

There have been five reported Theft of Motor vehicle on Albert Road, Soho Hill, Montague Road, Lime Grove and Hutton Road. 

We have received one report of Theft from motor vehicle on Jack Footer Close. Cash stolen. 

➡️ Key-less entry theft remains a concern. Please use Faraday pouches, remove visible items, and consider physical deterrents like steering wheel locks.

Police Drop in surgeries at Cannon Street Memorial Baptist Church, 300 Soho Road – 12pm until 1pm.

Councillor Freshwater (Handsworth Ward) and Police Drop in surgery Handsworth Library Soho Road 2pm until 4pm. 

Councillor Mahmood (Birchfield Ward) and Police Drop in surgery Grosvenor Road Studios, 16 Grosvenor Road 6pm until 7pm.
