Spike in Motorcycle Thefts in the Mallings area |

Hello,
Over the last couple of months we have seen a spike in motorcycle thefts in the Malling area of East Malling, Larkfield, Ditton and Aylesford, with Snodland having also been affected. I have attached information from the Secure By Design website which provides useful crime prevention information. Below are some key tips to make it harder for criminals to steal what is lawfully yours:
TRACE – Fit a Tracking system to your bike LOCK – Use SBD approved security products COVER – Thieves often ‘shop’ for particular motorcycle makes and models, as some are more desirable than others. Using a cover instantly makes it harder for them to know what the make and model of the bike is. A cover also provides another time-consuming obstacle for the thief. KEYS - Ensure they are not left in the ignition and are stored out of reach ALARMS and IMMOBILISERS - These are are good deterrent for thieves CCTV – Monitor your home and property
