Monthly round up 

Good evening from the St Alphege Neighbourhood Team, 

I hope this message finds you well. As July comes to an end, I wanted to share a round-up of what’s been happening across our neighbourhood, what’s coming up and how we are working together to keep our community safe and thriving. 

Our current priorities  

Our priorities are determined by local crime trends but also what you feel we should be focusing on in your neighbourhood. 

If you would like to suggest something the team should be prioritising, please let us know. 

Partnership working  

During July, the Town Centre officers and I have been working alongside BID Security to tackle any problem - solve local ASB issues in Solihull Town Centre.  

Anti-social behaviour remains one of our top priorities, the team have been conducting hi - visible patrols in intelligence - led locations. I am pleased to report that calls for service relating to ASB have decreased this month.  

We will continue to work with our partners to reduce ASB and make Solihull an enjoyable place to shop, work and socialise. 

We were joined by the Mounted Unit at the beginning of the month for our all-out day in the Town Centre. We hope those of you who saw them enjoyed the opportunity to meet the horses and take photographs with them.

Arrests and enforcement 

PCSO Richardson also assisted in the arrest of a prolific shoplifter who was wanted by police, working alongside response officers and BID Security from Solihull Town Centre to locate and apprehend the offender who attempted to evade officer.  

PCSO Burgess has also detained two shoplifters with the assistance of BID Security. This resulted in the offenders being served with Community Protection Warnings, banning them from the town centre.  

The team has had a successful month, making eleven arrests. These included domestic abuse offences and shop theft. 

Business crime remains another priority for the team. We work closely with retailers to prevent shoplifting across St Alphege and Blythe.  

Community involvement  

I would like to say a big thank you to all volunteers who have attended a Street Watch or Speed Watch with their local PCSOs. The team is grateful for the time you take out of your day to make your area a little safer and to help provide reassurance to your community. 

PCSO Burgess attended the Men’s Talking and Walking Solihull Group which supports men’s mental health  

Upcoming events 

Beat surgeries 

Members of the team will be at The Core, Theatre Square, Touchwood, Homer Road, Solihull 

on the 26th of August between 10:00AM - 11:00AM 

Solihull pride  

Solihull pride returns on August 8th, 2026 

You can collect your Pride wristband from 10am on Solihull High Street. The Parade will start at 12 Midday near The Mason's Arms on Solihull High Street and you must have collected your wristband to be able to take part.
