E Scooters- The Law

Good evening everyone, hope your well. 

​While e-scooters can seem like a convenient or fun way to travel, privately owned e-scooters are currently illegal to use on public roads, footpaths, and pavements.

​We have recently received reports of e-scooters being ridden around Francis Green Lane and Filance Lane.

​Our Goal is Safety First:

This isn't about getting anyone into trouble—it's purely about ensuring everyone in our community remains safe and stays within the law. I want to identify riders so they can be provided with friendly guidance and education regarding e-scooter rules.

​Please note: If individuals who have been given advice continue to ignore it, they will then be dealt with formally.

​If you have any information or footage (CCTV / Dashcam) of e-scooter riders in these areas—or anywhere in Penkridge—please reach out. Anything you share will be treated in confidence.
