E Scooters- The Law |
||
|
Good evening everyone, hope your well. While e-scooters can seem like a convenient or fun way to travel, privately owned e-scooters are currently illegal to use on public roads, footpaths, and pavements. We have recently received reports of e-scooters being ridden around Francis Green Lane and Filance Lane. Our Goal is Safety First: This isn't about getting anyone into trouble—it's purely about ensuring everyone in our community remains safe and stays within the law. I want to identify riders so they can be provided with friendly guidance and education regarding e-scooter rules. Please note: If individuals who have been given advice continue to ignore it, they will then be dealt with formally. How You Can Help Further details on the legislation, including Section 59 powers, vehicle seizure risks, and licence points, can be found on our accompanying poster. If you have any information or footage (CCTV / Dashcam) of e-scooter riders in these areas—or anywhere in Penkridge—please reach out. Anything you share will be treated in confidence. Contact: phillip.millichap@staffordshire.police.uk Thank you for working with us to keep Penkridge safe and lawful for everyone! Many thanks PCSO Phillip Millichap 28983 👮♂️
