Please find attached this month's newsletter for your information. Unfortunately, we have experienced six residential burglaries within the ward during the past month. A number of these offences occurred while residents were away on holiday. In addition, the recent period of exceptionally warm weather has resulted in some residents leaving doors and windows open, thereby creating opportunities for offenders. In one instance, an opportunist burglar entered a property and stole valuable items. Whilst crime can never be entirely prevented, ensuring that doors and windows are securely closed and locked when a property is unattended can significantly reduce the risk of burglary. We have also recorded three parcel thefts. Residents are encouraged to make use of designated safe places, secure delivery locations, or alternative collection arrangements wherever possible to help protect deliveries from theft until they can be safely retrieved. Owners of high-value vehicles are strongly advised to consider the use of Thatcham-approved immobilisers, tracking devices, and other vehicle security measures to enhance the protection of their vehicles. Further crime prevention advice is available via the links included within the newsletter. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and vigilance in helping to keep our community safe. Should you witness any suspicious activity, please report it to the police at the earliest opportunity. Finally, I would like to wish all residents a safe, enjoyable, and relaxing holiday season. Yours sincerely, PCSO Naomi Francis
