Hello all, Summer continues to bring significant demand for Thanet, and recently I have been assisting colleagues across Thanet with policing various events as well as answering 999 calls. However, since my last update I have also completed the following work across my wards: Road safety issues frequently feature among residents’ concerns, and I have been focusing on this in key locations in my wards. I have issued two s.59 warnings for vehicles seen driving in an antisocial and careless manner. If these vehicles or their drivers are seen again driving in this way over the next 12 months, their vehicles can now be seized. Further, colleagues and I stopped a suspicious vehicle whilst on patrol, and checks showed it to have no insurance. This was seized and the driver issued a Traffic Offence Report. My colleagues have also attended an address in my ward following reports of nuisance motor vehicle use and seized this vehicle as well as issuing a juvenile with a Community Protection Warning for their behaviour. I am aware of reports of motorbikes being ridden antisocially, and whilst on patrol had a pursuit through my wards with one of these vehicles. Further enforcement action is being planned to combat this issue. Finally on the subject of road safety, I conducted patrolling around Fuel Fest at Manston on 25th July 2026.I have made an arrest of a male in my ward on suspicion of domestic offences, and the investigation will now be continued by colleagues in another department. Foot patrolling has also paid off, with another wanted male arrested by me on suspicion of assault and public order offences. I have been liaising with councillors and partner agencies on a variety of issues. Working with Thanet District Council, I have issued a number of Community Protection Notices to individuals suspected of contributing to ASB in the area. I have attended a variety of 999 calls to support response colleagues. This has included an RTC where a driver was arrested by my colleague on suspicion of drink driving offences, a report of nuisance youths, domestic incidents, and a medical episode where a male was passed into the care of the ambulance service.Finally, I have been working closely alongside investigation teams to share knowledge and target those causing harm to the community. I have identified a repeat offender from CCTV, and within a day I was able to locate him and bring him into custody after some foot patrol. He has now been remanded to court!
