Plea for HELP

Dear Residents,

We are pleased to share some positive news following information received from a vigilant member of the public in the Lees area.

Acting on information provided by a resident, officers have recovered a vehicle that is believed to have been stolen during a robbery. The vehicle has now been seized and will receive forensic examination, which may assist us in identifying those responsible and progressing the investigation.

However, the main reason for this message is to highlight the important role that our community plays in helping us tackle crime.

The resident who contacted us became suspicious after noticing a vehicle parked on their street that they did not recognise and that did not appear to belong to anyone living nearby. After reviewing their CCTV footage, they saw that the vehicle had been left by individuals who were then collected by occupants of another vehicle shortly afterwards. This information proved to be a valuable piece of intelligence and helped officers locate the suspected stolen vehicle.

We would encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles in their area. Signs that may cause concern include:

Criminals will sometimes leave stolen vehicles parked in residential areas for a period of time before returning for them. This can be done to check whether the vehicle has been tracked or flagged to police before they attempt to move, sell, or dismantle it.
