STOP SEARCH LEADS TO MALE FOUND WITH CANNABIS

Dear Residents,

Today, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been carrying out proactive patrols in the Lees area whilst providing reassurance and support at local polling stations

During a routine foot patrol, PCSOs engaged with a male who raised concerns due to a strong smell of cannabis. Following further enquiries by neighbourhood officers, the male was stopped and searched under the relevant police powers. A small amount of cannabis was subsequently found in his possession, and he was dealt with accordingly for the offence.

While this may seem like a small incident, it highlights the value of visible neighbourhood policing and the importance of officers knowing their communities. Regular patrols, positive engagement with residents, help us identify and address issues that can affect community safety and wellbeing.

We will continue to carry out proactive patrols across the area.
