VEHICLE CRIME

A man has been arrested after Greater Manchester Police received reports of dangerous driving in Royton, with concerns that the driver was smoking cannabis whilst driving.

Officers located the vehicle and carried out a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act. A small quantity of suspected cannabis was recovered from inside the vehicle.

The driver subsequently provided a positive roadside DrugWipe test for cannabis and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession of cannabis.

He was taken into custody where a blood sample was obtained for forensic analysis. The defendant has been charged.
