Two in custody - appeal for information

Good afternoon Resident 

We’re appealing for information about a series of vehicle break-ins in the Scarborough area in the early hours of today, Thursday 30 July 2026.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference and theft from a motor vehicle and are in police custody at the time of writing.

We know that two vehicles were entered at around 2am on Park Road in Scarborough.

Enquiries suggest that the suspects have been in the areas of Cambridge Place, Scalby Road, Falsgrave Road, Park Road and Highfield.

It may be that they have also gone further afield in the Scarborough area.

We are asking for anyone in these areas to check their vehicles for any sign of interference, and to wear gloves if possible to preserve any forensic opportunities.

A suspected stolen dash-cam has been recovered during our investigation and we are appealing to anyone who believes theirs has been stolen, to get in touch.

Officers are currently out conducting CCTV and doorbell footage enquiries, if we have missed you and you believe you have footage of people acting suspiciously around vehicles, please get in touch.
