||
|
Good Afternoon,
We have received an increase in reports of fireworks being set off anti-socially at night and into the early hours of the morning, causing nuisance within your community, including distressing our beloved pets. We just wanted to remind everyone of the guidance around fireworks.
It is a criminal offence for anyone to:
Set off fireworks on a street. Throw or fire any firework(s) in or into any highway, street, public space (this would include throwing a firework from a private place into a public place, street, highway). Use a firework between the hours of 11pm-7am - please check with your council for exceptions. Cause injury/danger/annoyance on the highway. Light any fire or firework (without lawful authority) within 50 feet of the centre of a highway which consists of or comprises a carriageway, and as a consequence the highway is damaged. Make hoax/ false calls to the emergency services.
If a person is found to be breaching any of the above guidance, they can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice amounting to £90.
If you have any specific areas of concern you wish for us to target, please let us know by replying to this message or calling us on 101.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind Regards,
