Appeal after teenage boy assaulted in Gwithian

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted and a pensioner who tried to help was knocked to the ground.

The incident took place on Friday, 24 July, at around 7.45pm at Gwithian Towans Car Park.

A 14-year-old local boy is reported to have been attacked by a group of three boys. The victim sustained injuries including chipped teeth and swelling to his head.

An 81-year-old local woman who was walking in the car park and saw the attack was knocked to the ground when she attempted to come to his aid. She sustained minor injuries.
