Neighbourhood Update

Hello Resident. I hope you’re doing well.

I am Police Community Support Officer Ben Priest here to give you the weekly Neighbour Hood Update.

What has our team been doing?

 Members of our team Have assisted our fellow officers over in Hawkesley, King’s Norton, in managing a crime scene. Helping to keep members of the public safe, as well as making sure all potential evidence is preserved and kept safe. Helping us to get the best possible outcome.

The local team attended Holloway Hall on the 27th of July for our monthly Cuppa with a Coppa where we spoke to residents and offered advice on issues they may have in their area, or any general concerns they have what we can address and provide advice on.

What’s been occurring in Bartley Green

Since the last WMNOW message there’s has been a total of three reports of criminal damage to a property. We advise that you install CCTV cameras to record any offences. As this also helps officers to be able to identify the offender if it captures the face of them, in a good quality picture. We also advise to those who have a front garden without any fences/gates, to install some. As this can deter people from wanting to get close to your property due to have to spending the time and effort to do so.

Since the last WMNOW message there have been three thefts of a motor vehicle. We advise you to make sure your vehicle is properly locked and that your windows are fully up. We then advise you to install extra security measures such as a Disk lock for your cars steering wheel what makes it harder for offenders to drive the car properly. We advise that you install CCTV cameras facing your vehicle so that any offences can be recorded. Giving the officers who investigate the crime, a better chance of potentially identifying the offender.

We encourage residents to register their home/business CCTV and doorbell cameras, as this helps us to solve crimes and get a positive outcome, as your CCTV cameras can provide us the appropriate footage what captures the crime in question. This helps us solves crimes but also helps to keep your community safer.
