📍 Your Local Policing Update - Gravesend CSU 🚔

Today, Gravesend CSU has been carrying out a range of proactive activity across the community, focusing on tackling crime, addressing anti-social behaviour, safeguarding vulnerable people and acting on local intelligence.

✅ Targeting Illicit Tobacco

Officers attended multiple vape shops across Gravesend following intelligence relating to the sale of illicit tobacco products.

🚬 8,000 illicit cigarettes seized

Removing these products from circulation helps protect the public, support legitimate local businesses and disrupt criminal activity.

✅ Proactive Town Centre Patrols

Whilst carrying out patrols in Gravesend Town Centre, officers identified two males suspected of selling illicit tobacco and counterfeit perfume.

✅ Safeguarding & Offender Management

Officers conducted enquiries relating to the location of a wanted individual and carried out compliance checks on individuals subject to police monitoring and restrictions.

This proactive work helps protect the public, safeguard vulnerable people and manage risk within our communities.

✅ Ongoing Investigations

📹 CCTV enquiries were completed in relation to a reported breach of a Community Protection Notice (CPN). Evidence was secured and witness statements obtained to progress the investigation.

As a result of enquiries completed today, an arrest is now pending in relation to anti-social behaviour within Gravesend Town Centre.

This is a positive result and demonstrates how information from residents, CCTV opportunities and proactive policing can help identify those responsible for behaviour that negatively impacts our community.

✅ Partnership Working - G-Safe Meeting

🤝 Officers attended the Gravesham Community Safety Partnership (G-Safe) meeting alongside partner agencies.

G-Safe brings together organisations including the police, local authority and other key partners to share information, identify emerging issues and coordinate activity to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and community safety concerns across Gravesham.

These meetings are an important opportunity to ensure partners are working together, addressing the issues that matter most to residents and developing long-term solutions to local problems.
