Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
Again, it has been a busy week with 46 calls to Police, 6 emergency and 9 priority calls. Calls were mainly Domestic, harassment and suspicious vehicle related.
We have been spending a lot of this week investigating the crime on the morning of the 20th. This includes CCTV, intelligence gathering and target hardening around Burbage. We have visited areas such as Windsor Street, Coventry Road and the Azalea Drive area. We have spoken to lots of residents and supported with crime reduction items. Patrols also include Canberra way following several reports of a suspicious male hanging around the field area and Brookside.
Vehicle recovered from Dudley Rise. We are seeing a recent increase in vehicles abandoned on public roads with no tax. Please take a minute to checks yours.
Stop search completed on Brookside and a vehicle seized following a stop check on the A5 for no insurance.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Whilst out and about on patrol and completing investigations, we have noticed a lot of downstairs windows open whilst residents are not in, or even worse, when they have gone on holiday. Please remain vigilant. The last thing anyone wants is to return home to find they have been broken in to.
PLEASE call 999 immediately if you witness suspects making attempts to enter property as this is a crime in progress. This gives us the best opportunity to catch those involved and it may also prevent further victims.
Thank you and take care.
