Officers have again been busy with diary appointments & various incoming demand on most days and carrying out arrests.

Patrols continue at the Yew Tree for motorists parking on the Zig Zags and those caught will receive their ticket, points and fine, Remember you can also report these vehicles by using www.nextbase.co.uk/national-dash-cam-safety-portal & Operation Snap to upload your footage,

Stechford Retail Park continues to have high visibility patrols and visits to each shop which seems to be working and the beggars seem to have got the message but will always try their luck and are swiftly moved on making it a more pleasant place to come & shop

3 X Tickets have been Issued for vehicles parking on the ZIG ZAGS at the Yew Tree 

Travellers arrived at Oaklands Recreation and were served notice by Birmingham City Council and Police and were quickly moved on only to arrive at Sheldon Country Park where a expedited notice was served by council & Police and moved on very quickly

If you notice any vehicles where you live that you have not seen before or have been there for a long time please do not hesitate to contact us and we will gladly have a look and check them out

STREET WATCH 

Street Watch is a scheme run by the community, for the community in partnership with the police. Street watch is about being out and about in your local area providing reassurance to the public and helping police to tackle local problems.

You can help police tackle the low-level issues that impact most on your communities and their quality of life.

Street Watch volunteers walk around their community just like any other resident.

However, Street Watch members will walk in pairs wearing high visibility jackets, in order to provide visible levels of reassurance, to promote good citizenship, and to increase the feeling of safety. 

WHAT STREET WATCH INVOLVES 

A minimum of two hours patrols every month

Once we have approximately four members then the scheme can get off the ground

Patrolling must be done in pairs and they must be in possession of a mobile phone 

You will have regular contact with your local police team so that team members are aware of current local issues and concerns

Highlighting problems such as anti-social behaviour, graffiti and environmental problems

Florescent jackets bearing the Street Watch insignia must be worn when you are patrolling

Members will be given a short presentation prior to the scheme commencing, outlining their role, expectations and ensuring they fully understand the ethos behind the scheme

We will provide insurance which must be in place before you can begin, our insurance policy for each Street Watch area can cover 15 people.

Blocking Vehicle Theft

Keyless car fobs are an increasing common feature of modern vehicles, allowing proximity access and push – button Ignition

Unfortunately, as the design of vehicles has modernised, so too have the methods of the thieves that target them.

Tech – savvy criminals are using signal boosting devices to amplify the proximity signal of a fob that is inside a property, while an accomplice waits next to the vehicle, ready to open the door and known as Relay Attacks / Keyless Thefts.

This method Is quick, silent, & allows the easy theft of vehicles and valuables 

The Solution

Community Speed Watch 

Community Speed Watch gives local residents the ability to actively get involved in road safety. Local volunteers join together and monitor traffic speeds at identified locations in the community, Information is recorded and passed to the local police neighbourhood team, which result in a warning letter being sent to the registered keeper.

Community Speed Watch is about taking positive action and helping to improve the safety and quality of life for everyone in the community and to raise public awareness of inappropriate speeding of vehicles.

The volunteer’s work at locations identified/suggested by the community based on where there is concern regarding speeding traffic or the impact of speed

All volunteers are given training on how to use the speed detection equipment and safe working procedures, how to monitor the speed of vehicles safely, Volunteers will be issued with a high visibility jackets for the safety of volunteers and also to notify motorists that they are entering a Community Speed Watch area.

The registration number of speeding vehicles is recorded and West Midlands Police will send a letter to offending motorists. 

The presence of the Speed Watch volunteers out on the streets is to make drivers think twice about their driving habits and to slow down. Speed Watch will also allow us to collect data about the number of cars speeding in identified locations.

On 21/07/26 between 03.00 hrs & 07.10 hrs Unknown offenders have stolen a locked and secured 19 plate Mitsubishi ASX from a driveway on Garretts Green Lane and have also placed a strip of Velcro over the ring doorbell before gaining access & stealing the vehicle. – Enquiries ongoing 

On 21/07/26 between 18.30 hrs & 07.40 hrs on 22/07/26 Unknown offenders have stolen a locked and secured 67 plate Toyota Prius on Lea Hall Road, Vehicle is a keyless entry – Enquiries ongoing

On 22/07/26 between 19.30 hrs & 07.15 hrs on 23/07/26 Unknown offenders have stolen a locked and secured 65 plate BMW on Billingsley Road, by unknown means – Enquiries ongoing

On 24/07/26 at 02.59 hrs Unknown offenders have stolen a 70-plate BMW X3 on Billingsley Road by unknown means, CCTV at offence location has been blocked by a signal blocker.

On 22/07/26 between 18.00 hrs & 05.10 hrs on 23/07/26 Unknown offenders have stolen both front and rear registration plates to an 11-plate Ford Fiesta on Albert Road

On 17/07/26 at 15.45 hrs Unknown group of youths have caused damage to a bus on Church Road, by throwing stones and breaking the passenger door – Enquiries ongoing

On 17/07/26 between 17.25 hrs & 17.30 hrs Unknown offender has been inside Corals at the Glebe where they have got into an argument over using one of the gambling machines at which point have picked up a chair and swung this in the direction of the machine and smashed the screen and then left the store – Enquiries ongoing

Residential Burglary…

On 18/07/26 between 02.00 hrs & 03.30 hrs Unknown offenders have gained entry to a property on Lyme Green Road, by lock snapping the rear garden door, at this point unsure what has been stolen due to victim away on holiday but a relative has secured property – Enquiries ongoing

On 21/07/26 between 10.00 hrs & 10.30 hrs Unknown offender has gained entry through a rear open door on Kelynmead Road, and stolen a Nintendo 3DS & Nintendo Switch, from enquires offender has been Identified and currently wanted.

On 18/07/26 between 23.59 hrs & 07.00 hrs on 19/07/26 Unknown offenders have stolen a mobility scooter from a rear garden on Francis Road, by unknown means – Enquiries ongoing

On 24/07/26 between 04.00 hrs & 04.18 hrs Unknown offender has gained entry to the Station Inn by damaging the rear door and stolen charity boxes, Jewellery, and mixed spirits – Enquiries ongoing 

Robbery of personal Property…

On 24/07/26 at 23.30 hrs 3 X unknown offenders on one motorbike have followed an uber rider on his motorbike turn into Garwood Road to make his delivery when they have threatened him with a knife and stolen his motorbike – Enquiries ongoing 

Fear or Provocation of Violence…

On 25/07/26 at 11.59 hrs victim has reported an unknown male has parked their vehicle on his driveway and when challenged by the owner of the property has said Say Something Again & I Will Punch You, Details of the offending vehicle have been taken and Enquiries – ongoing
