Outstanding Firearms Arrest

While on route to a well-earned coffee break in NW10, officers spotted a male sitting on the boot of a vehicle. Thanks to their keen observations, they quickly realised the male appeared to be attempting to reload a black handgun in broad daylight on a busy side street, with members of the public only metres away.

The officers acted immediately, disarming and detaining the male. Within just 21 seconds of first sighting him, all three officers had the suspect in handcuffs and under arrest on suspicion of possession of a firearm.

Further examination revealed the weapon to be a gas-powered .22 calibre pistol. Fortunately, the firearm was recovered before its capabilities could be tested.

Notable Investigation Outcome

Further enquiries linked the suspect to 32 separate theft offences, making this one of the most significant investigation outcomes to date and demonstrating the wider impact that proactive policing can have in bringing offenders to justice.
