Argyle Square Gardens - tackling drugs and ASB |
||
|
Over recent weeks drugs-related ASB issues have worsened with local residents and businesses reporting concerns. Police and other services are working together to tackle what can be entrenched issues including homelessness, addiction, vulnerability and criminality. Locals may notice that, as of today, two out of three entrances to the Gardens have been locked by the Council at the request of the Safer Neighbourhood team. This is a month-long trial, with the aim of rendering the Square less attractive to dealers and less prone to ASB and criminal activity. The third entrance to the Gardens remains open, maintaining access for users of the basketball courts, and all other peaceable users of the Gardens. The trial will be assessed for its usefulness after four weeks. The King's Cross Safer Neighbourhood team would be glad to get your feedback. Stay safe and well.
