Shaftesbury Park Nuisance motorbikes- Recovery of Stolen vehicle.

Today whilst on dedicated patrols of the Shaftesbury area, due to the recent increase in nuisance and illegal motorbikes on Baseball Drive and Shaftesbury Park, PCSO's Phillimore and Griffiths have located a suspected stolen motorbike, that has been tampered with and left upside down, on the park. 

There was no registration plate, so after a bit of searching they have located serial numbers which match with a motorbike that was stolen in Derby. A recovery vehicle has been arranged and the registered keeper has been made aware. 

Some may see nuisance motorbikes as a low priority for the Police but the reality is that this behaviour has wide reaching repercussions; from noise nuisance and anti social behaviour, to dangerous driving and risk to the public, the riders committing driving and document offences and as this shows; theft and damage of peoples vehicles- many of which are used to commute to work, education and so on, as well as the financial impact. As the Police Neighbourhood team it is our goal to prevent this, and more, from occurring. 

We will continue to patrol the area to further identify those involved, seize or recover the bikes and take appropriate action against the riders.
