Hello Custom House, I hope you are all keeping well. Over in Beckton there have been several incidents of shoplifters attacking Security guards in Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys. Please consider giving your local security guards a friendly nod and a smile next time you are out doing your shopping, they’re having a rough time of late. Please read below for Custom House street crime updates. Attempted Theft 17/07/2026 (Cundy Road): An unknown individual attempted to remove a Ring doorbell. Fortunately, they were unsuccessful.17/07/2026 (Gresham Road): Three males attempted to steal a moped. Police arrived promptly, causing the suspects to flee. Following a foot chase, arrests were made and articles for going equipped to steal were recovered.Assault 20/07/2027 (Canning Town Rec Ground): While walking through the park, a man accused another of looking at his girlfriend. The aggressor then pushed and threatened to stab the victim.Road Rage & Antisocial Driving 17/07/2026 (BP Garage): For reasons currently unknown, the occupants of a white Land Rover attacked a Mercedes, causing damage to the vehicle. CCTV is being reviewed and the investigation is ongoing.17/07/2026: A female driver in a Ford Fiesta was reported to be inhaling Nitrous Oxide whilst driving. When a member of the public attempted to speak with her, the driver shouted and made racial remarks. The vehicle's registration number was noted, and the investigation is ongoing.Vehicle Theft 17/07/2026 (Berwick Road): A motorcycle was stolen. No suspects were seen at the time.19/07/2026 (King George Ave): A black Nissan was stolen. No suspects were witnessed.Attempted Theft 21/07/26 (Cundy Road): Four males entered the communal area of a block of flats and attempted to steal a bicycle. They were challenged by the owner and they fled empty-handed.Arson 22/07/2026 (Tollgate Road, E13): A Hyundai had its window smashed and was set on fire. While it is early in the investigation, police are following promising leads.Cultivation of Cannabis 21/07/2026 (Sheerwater Road): The Beckton and Custom House Safer Neighbourhoods Teams executed a search warrant.
