Distraction Theft - Ruislip - Can you help?

Crime Reference: CAD2452/21JUL26

A distraction theft took place in Ruislip on Tuesday 21 July, and your help is required please to help identify the vehicle and/or suspects involved.

This appeal is relevant to you even if you do not live immediately near the crime scene.

Crime details:

Date: Tuesday 21 July

Time: 1040hrs approx

Location: Ladygate Lane, on the pavement opposite the 331 bus stop between Glenfield Crescent and St Margarets Road

Vehicle: A silver car - described by the victim as “small Corsa-size” was involved and had two occupants, a male driver and female rear passenger. Vehicle registration is unknown, but a dent was noted on the rear of the vehicle to the nearside between the number plate and the rear light cluster.

Incident: The car pulled up as the female victim was walking on the pavement opposite the 331 bus stop between Glenfield Crescent and St Margarets Road, having walked from the area of The Barn on Bury Street, and may well have been followed from there. The victim was asked for spurious directions and when she came within range of the vehicle her gold necklace was stolen using sleight of hand by the female in the rear of the vehicle who leant out of the window. The vehicle then made off along Ladygate Lane towards Breakspear Road.

Action required please:

If you live near to the crime scene or anywhere in the adjoining roads, any eyewitness, CCTV or video doorbell sightings of a similar silver vehicle between 1030hrs and 1045hrs may be of significance. This type of distraction crime involves the suspects circling the wider area looking for victims, therefore any vehicle side view, distant view, direction of travel and so forth, with times, is likely to be extremely useful in the early stages of this investigation.

If you live away from the crime scene, were you perhaps driving in that area and do you perhaps have dashcam footage of relevance? The suspects are likely to have been circling a much wider area - did you see anything suspicious in your own road or whilst out walking or driving? Did you follow a small silver car with rear damage as described, and did your dashcam capture the registration? Please rest assured that officers can quickly and easily rule out innocent parties.
