Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team - Weekly Update It’s been a busy week for the team. Here's a quick look at some of the work we've been doing to keep our community safe and connected One male issued with a Community Protection Warning in Poundbury following continued reports of the individual being involved in anti-social behaviour.
Officers stopped a male on Princes Street after he matched the description of someone causing anti-social behaviour nearby. During the stop, the male was found to have traces of white powder around his nose. As a result, he was searched and found in possession of a suspected Class B drug. The substance was seized and the male accepted an out of court disposal.
Members of the team attended an online multi-agency meeting to discuss an individual who has recently been coming to the attention of police and our partner agencies
Carried out a disruption visit to an individual who has recently been adopted as a known ‘Knife Carrying Nominal’. Work continues
Seized a vehicle in Piddlehinton due to the driver having no insurance. Driver issued with a Traffic Offence Report
Successfully supported Dorset Council with the eviction of persons from one of their sites
Conducted a joint visit with the Community Mental Health Team to further safeguard a male who has repeatedly come to the attention of services. Ongoing support continues with another visit planned
Carried out high visibility hotspot foot patrols in the town centre and a number of our villages
Completed joint visits with housing providers due to complaints of drug use and anti-social behaviour
Visited 2 schools to speak to staff and pupils
Carried out an intelligence led, plain clothed operation at Dorchester Market targeting the unlawful sale of knives. Knives located and seized. One male issued with a Community Resolution
