Residents Alert

We would like to make residents aware of a recent incident involving unsolicited work being carried out at a local property.

A resident answered the door to three males who offered to jet wash their driveway. The resident clearly stated that they did not want the work carried out. Despite this, the males proceeded to undertake the work and then demanded payment upon completion. Although no threats were made, the resident felt intimidated by the situation and paid the money requested.

We would like to remind residents to be cautious when approached by cold callers offering services such as driveway cleaning, roofing work, gardening, paving, gutter cleaning, or other property maintenance.

How to Protect Yourself

If you feel threatened, intimidated, or believe you have been the victim of a scam or rogue trader, please report the matter to the police. If a crime is in progress or you feel at immediate risk, call 999.

Please also look out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may be more susceptible to this type of behaviour.
