 Joint Patrols to Tackle Parking Concerns 

Yesterday morning , officers from the Derbyshire Police Chapel & Whaley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team joined colleagues from Civil Enforcement for a joint patrol across the local area, focusing on parking issues that have been raised by our residents.

During the patrol, a number of parking offences were identified and dealt with. We know that inconsiderate and illegal parking can cause real problems for our communities, including blocking pavements, restricting access for emergency vehicles, reducing visibility at junctions, and making it unsafe for pedestrians, particularly children, older people, and those with pushchairs or mobility aids.

Working together with Civil Enforcement is important because parking concerns often fall under the responsibility of different agencies. By carrying out joint patrols, we can ensure that the right organisation deals with the right issue quickly and effectively, while providing a visible presence and listening to the concerns of our local community.
