Neighbourhood Update

Hello Resident. I hope you’re doing well.

I am Police Community Support Officer Ben Priest. Who is here to give you the weekly Neighbour Hood Update.

What has our team been doing?

 Members of our team have completed a total of five Community events across Bartley Green. Two of which were Street Watch patrols. One was a visit to Edgcumbe Court retirement home to speak to residents. Another was for a Cuppa with a Coppa at Bartley Green library on Adams Hill. And then a P.A.C.T meeting, where we spoke to residents about concerns what they would like the team to address in the future.

The local team have also conducted a operation back on Sunday the 19th. Where between the times of 15:00-22:00. Our team were driving around Bartley Green targeting the off-road bikers. This resulted in two bikes being seized and removed from the area. As well information on six address where the bikers presumably live, or where the bikes are potentially being stored. We hope to pay each of these address a visit, as well having Birmingham City Council involved in the visits also.

What’s been occurring in Bartley Green

Since the last WMNOW message there’s has been a total of six burglaries within the area of Bartley Green. We advise you to install CCTV cameras to record any offences what will help officers to potentially identify the suspect/suspects who committed the offence. We also advise that you install an Anti-Snap lock to your front and rear door, as this makes it harder for the offenders to break the lock inside the door. Helping to increase the security of your home.

Since the last WMNOW message there have been two fast parcel reports what are team have been able to seize for evidential purposes. Where each parcel has illegal drugs stashed inside. Our team has then been able to create intelligence reports for the address’s where the parcels come from. As well as where the parcels are going to. What will help us to be able to gain warrants to enter the address.

We encourage residents to register their home/business CCTV and doorbell cameras, as this helps us to solve crimes and get a positive outcome, as your CCTV cameras can provide us the appropriate footage what captures the crime in question. This helps us solves crimes but also helps to keep your community safer.
