Here is your quick round up from me and the rest of the Holbrooks neighbourhood policing team.
 
What’s been happening?

This week has been a busy week for officers conducting arrest attempts. The officers on the team have attended several addresses across the city in search of persons wanted for different criminal offences. As part of these arrest attempts Three persons have been arrested this week who were wanted for failing to appear for various offences (missing a legally scheduled court date. If you were given a summons or released on bail to attend a court hearing and do not show up, it is a serious criminal offence) 

Officers on patrol located a stolen vehicle whilst on patrol on Thursday. The high-end vehicle had been stolen the day before from the Leicstershire area and was found by the officers in a local hotel car park. The vehicle was recovered to be returned to the owner.

On Sunday Officers also seized this van which was found to have expired vehicle tax. The vehicle was spotted during their routine patrols and removed with the help of our recovery agents. 

Crime Figures

There was Two reported vehicle offence in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. This was a Theft of a motor vehicle offence with a vehicle stolen from Firecrest Close and a theft from a motor vehicle offence that took place on Paxmead Close.

There was Three reported burglary offence in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. These were two Burglaries of a Business premises that took place on Swallow Road. The third was Burglary of a Residential Home that took place on John Shelton Drive.

One of the burglaries involved the theft of Asian Gold. We have seen a small increase recently in burglaries involving Asian gold jewellery due to its high purity and resale value.

To reduce risk:

• Install a high-quality safe (insurance-rated, bolted down).
• Close curtains at night and ensure windows/doors are locked.
• Don’t leave jewellery boxes in bedrooms; burglars know where to look.
• Avoid posting valuables on social media.
 

Record Keeping:
• Photograph each item clearly.
• Keep receipts, valuations, and serial numbers. In the event of it being stolen this can help identify stolen jewellery at a later date.
• Use property-marking tools where possible.
