Royston Police Station Open Day this Sunday

Members of the public are invited to the Royston Police Station Open Day this Sunday (26 July) as it marks its 35th anniversary.

The free family-friendly event will run from 10am until 3pm at the station on Melbourn Steet and will give residents a behind-the-scenes look at local policing, along with a range of activities and attractions for children and adults alike.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet their local police officers and explore police vehicles, including quad bikes and patrol cars.

Children can take part in a number of activities throughout the day, including police-themed ID card making, a colouring competition and make your own fingerprint copy to take home.

Officers and staff will also be on hand to answer questions and provide advice on crime prevention, community safety and neighbourhood policing.

Royston Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant John Hickmott, said: “The open day is a great opportunity to meet some of your local officers and ask questions and for children to come along and take part in activities and have a look around police vehicles.

"This year's event is particularly special as we celebrate 35 years since the station moved to Melbourn Steet in 1991. We are proud of our long-standing connection with the community and would love to welcome residents old and new to join us for the day.
