I wanted to provide you with an update regarding road safety issues including speeding, dangerous driving and parking, which people where you live are highlighting as an issue of concern in their survey responses. Dear Residents,
We would like to inform you that today PCSOs 30496 Dinsdale and 30687 Ryder-Ingledew conducted Community Speed Watch checks at three locations across Spennymoor.
South View, Middlestone Moor Following concerns raised by local residents regarding vehicles exceeding the speed limit, speed watch was carried out at this location. We are pleased to report that no vehicles were recorded speeding.
Rock Road One vehicle was recorded exceeding the speed limit, travelling at 37 mph. The driver will receive a warning letter regarding this.
North Close Road, Kirk Merrington Six vehicles were recorded exceeding the speed limit, with the highest speed recorded being 45 mph. All six drivers will receive warning letters.
We would like to thank residents for their ongoing support and for reporting concerns regarding speeding in their communities. Community Speed Watch helps us identify problem areas and encourage safer driving throughout our neighbourhoods.
Kind regards,
Spennymoor Neighbourhood Policing Team
