Proposed New Neighbourhood Watch Scheme |
Dear Roy, Thank you for registering with Neighbourhood Watch. I am the membership administrator for Suffolk Neighbourhood Watch, and have received your proposed request to set up a new Neighbourhood Watch scheme for "Laurels and Fieldfare", Forward Green. Apologies for my ignorance, but can you confirm whether Forward Green is a village in it's own right, or do the properties in the area form part of Earl Stonham by chance? The information available does not really confirm anything other than Stowmarket! When setting up new schemes, we recommend that a scheme would normally include at least 5 or more properties - that can then be considered a small community, but my understanding is that your proposal looks to only consist of yours and your immediate neighbour's properties. So in order to approve scheme status, would you be happy to include the other properties within the Forward Green, to include a community that covers all of Forward Green? (e.g. our system does show a couple of other properties within Forward Green - so they could become part of the scheme.) As a coordinator for the proposed scheme, we hope you would also be prepared to secure interest from other residents nearby, so that they too could join the scheme. If this is something you are happy to consider, please let me know, and I can then help you set up your new scheme. We can offer you leaflets to encourage people to register with Neighbourhood Watch and join your scheme. Window stickers and Street signs can also be provided to help new schemes. If you are happy to move forward and set up the scheme, as a registered member of Neighbourhood Watch, you will need to confirm that you agree with the values and code of ethics and standards of behaviour It would also be useful to know how many properties are likely to from the group.
I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes
