Hello Resident, We hope you've all had a good week!
✅ News from Your Local Policing Team ✅
We have had a busy week!
Our team started the week on a joint operation with Birmingham City Council on Cherrywood Road. We worked with Civil enforcement officers, DVLA, Trading standards, Community safety partners and Immigration officers. 35 tickets were issued by civil enforcement, DVLA have identified a large number of untaxed vehicles. We conducted visits to various premises with Trading standards and removed 3 vehicles.
Our PCSOs visited one of our community Churches to discuss issues in the area and ways to combat them.
We made an arrest at the start of the week for a Breach of an Order. We will hold people to account for their actions.
Our Police officers conducted a stop and search where they seized nitrous oxide cannisters. Nitrous oxide is a Class C drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Possession can carry penalties including an unlimited fine, a criminal caution, or up to two years in prison for repeat offenders!
We responded to reports of a community member who was unconscious and lying on the floor, our officers were able to administer first aid until our paramedic colleagues arrived to take over and support the person to hospital for treatment.
We have made numerous Streetlink referrals this week, offering support to some of our homeless community. Streetlink is an online portal that anyone can make a referral to. The streetwatch teams will attempt to engage with individuals and offer them support away from rough sleeping. One of our officers spotted a suspicious vehicle, believed to be stolen, they were able to get the car removed.
One of our officers supported a vulnerable community member who was in crisis, they were able to offer support and someone to talk to, while they waited for medical help to arrive.
